Overview

The stress associated with divorce is one of the most difficult challenges a person will experience in their lifetime. The path the individual chooses for this transitional process will likely affect the amount of stress they experience, and it may also dictate how they manage their life moving forward.

South Florida Divorce Mediations can provide mediation for:

  • Divorce (with or without children)
  • Time-Sharing Plan
  • Child Support Calculations
  • Paternity
  • Relocation
  • Post-Divorce Issues
  • Modification of Child Support and/or Alimony

How Does Pro Se Mediation Work?

The parties hire one person – an impartial mediator – to assist both parties in identifying the family law issues that need to be addressed and then help the parties explore solutions as to how to resolve those issues. After the parties reach an agreement, the mediator drafts the Agreements. In order for the mediator to draft the Agreements all outstanding issues must be agreed to and accepted by both parties. The parties then sign and file the Agreements with the Court and the Court schedules a Final Hearing for the divorce/paternity case to be finalized. Pro se mediation is, therefore, the least expensive divorce/paternity assisted alternative. The key component to mediation is that the final resolution is determined by the parties themselves rather than being imposed by a judge.
